UKRAINIAN VYSHYVANKA MARCH in traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirts – SUN 20 May – St

At the end of the Vyshyvanka March, all participants are welcome to come to the Ukrainian Cultural Centre to see a show prepared by London Euromaidan and the teachers and parents of ‘Krinichenka’ school.

Vyshyvanka is a name for the embroidered shirt of the Ukrainian national costume. The embroidery is full of symbolism and many people, especially in the old days, viewed vyshyvanka as a talisman. Every region of Ukraine has their special vysyhyvanka techniques and patterns.
