About this Event

Ukraine is battered by stresses from all sides: war with Russia, the loss of Crimea and much of the Black and Azov Seas, Coronavirus, the world financial crisis and a new Zelenski Government. Glen will try to put the current Ukraine environment into context. On Russia, he will explain about the war, the President’s initiatives for Donbas and how Russia is influencing internal politics. He will also touch upon the reforming both laws and the law system, with examples from his work with defence committees, and future social and financial uncertainties. Finally, Glen will outline the value and challenges for the UK defence support for Ukraine, the new developments after the recent visit to the UK of President Zelenski and what they mean for the future UK Defence relationship.

GLEN GRANT works as the security and defence expert in the Ukrainian Institute for the Future. His work here is multi-level supporting both the Presidents Administration and the Parliamentary Defence Committee whilst also providing leadership and moral support for NGOs and defence volunteers.
