The British-Ukrainian Aid’s volunteer Lyuda Dyer, inspired by the Tough Mudder challenge, has taken up a challenge of her own to raise funds for a permanent residence for up to 200 Ukrainian refugees displaced by the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

Every night for the next 30 days she will be sleeping in a tent or a sleeping bag on a balcony, garden or other open areas regardless of the weather conditions. For 30 nights she will be “homeless” and without a roof over her head. Sleeping outside at night on her own is something she has never done before.
Lyuda hopes that taking up this challenge will help the internally displaced families from Donbass to find a new home. She has met some of the families while visiting them in a temporary shelter in Odessa.
Every penny received will go toward the repair of the hostel for the displaced co-ordinated by British-Ukrainian Aid and the European Association for the Rights of People with Disabilities in Ukraine: the priority involves extensive REPAIRS TO THE ROOF, which are necessary to allow further construction work.
