About the event

“We are very fortunate to live in a free world and not have the threat of war over our heads, but please remember those innocent people who are not as fortunate as us!”, says Mychailo Fedyk. When Mychailo turned 50 he felt that he needed a fresh challenge and wanted to do something more for his beloved Ukraine. Then he saw a programme about the London Marathon on television and applied for it but, sadly, was unsuccessful in the ballot. Mychailo then decided to go for the Manchester Marathon instead and got a place! This is Mychailo’s first ever Marathon and he is going to give it his best shot to cross that finishing line in Manchester on Sunday 2nd April 2017 to support the victims of the current conflict in Ukraine.
