About the event

On the 9th Anniversary of Maidan and the Revolution of Dignity, we invite you to join us for a Night for Ukraine to raise funds for medical aid to Ukraine.

The Night will start with the film screening of the award winning Kyiv Unbroken (2017, dir. Phil Strongman, run time 94 min, languages: English, Ukrainian & russian ). You will discover the artists that mushroomed in Ukraine since 2014 and Maidan's continuing influence on painters, photographers, sculptors, musicians & film-makers in both Ukraine and the whole of Europe. You will learn about the artistic shockwaves that have followed to this day - all in the midst of a country at war, fighting for its freedom.

The screening will be followed by Q&A in English & Ukrainian with film's director Phil Strongman and singer Nazgulya Shukaeva featured in the film. We'll provide the interpreting.

The Night for Ukraine will continue with the live performance by the amazing Nazgulya Shukaeva, Anton Syzko (bass) and Yusuf Ahmed (percussion).

Timeline:

5:30 pm - doors open

6:00-7:30 pm - Kyiv Unbroken documentary screening

7:30-8:00 pm - Q&A

8:00-8:10 - short interval

8:10-9:10 pm - live performance by Nazgulya Shukaeva, Anton Syzko and Yusuf Ahmed (percussion).

Before and after the event, and during the break, our guests will be able to try Ukrainian dishes at the cafe and have a drink at the bar just outside the main hall.
